Many thanks to the many people who still today ask me, ‘’when am I going back on the Radio in the UAE’’? The honest answer is I don’t know….yet!!

As you know, I was the Drive Time DJ, then weekend brunch DJ / Presenter on Radio 2 – 99.3 and 106FM for 8 wonderful years from 2003 to 2011 .

Gulf News Broadcasting took over the station in 2006 from the then known ‘’Emirates Media’’ and then changed the direction of the station in 2010, to a strict computer driven format, along with a change to its target audience, music and presenter policy. Gulf News Broadcasting were then stripped of both the national FM frequencies and name rights to broadcast on both stations on the 1st July 2016 and subsequently closed down there broadcasting operations in Dubai.

Abu Dhabi Media who always owned the Radio 1 & 2 brand names and rights, plus the national FM transmitter frequencies, took back both day to day control of both Radio’s 1 and 2 and decided to both maintain the previous formats on both stations and age demographics. Abu Dhabi Media re commenced live broadcasting with a brand new presentation and management team on both stations after an 9 month gap in April 2017.

Abu Dhabi Media is both a first class and an excellent broadcasting institution located in Abu Dhabi and I am sure both Radios 1 and 2 will be hugely successfully under there Radio division.

However, Young Roge is still here and developing a new UAE FM English Radio Station aimed at the mature UAE residents. So very shortly, I will keep you updated regularly on this page, you will once again here the unique Young Roge music, jingles whit, charm and chat that’s currently not heard on any other UAE English FM radio station….. watch this space……..the story and journey as they say…. is to be continued…
